Baked Orzo


For  Single recipe    (serves 4)

Grease 1½-quart casserole dish and set aside

Ingredients to be Sautéd:

Chicken or Vegetable Broth:


Parmesan Cheese:


  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Grease the baking dish and set aside.
  3. Grate Parmesan cheese and set aside.
  4. Melt butter in a skillet on medium-low heat.
  5. Add onions and sauté until soft and golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  6. Add orzo and garlic, cook for 1 minute.
  7. Add broth and spices.
  8. Bring to a boil.
  9. Remove from heat.
  10. Transfer the orzo mixture to the baking dish.
  11. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  12. Cover and bake for 35 to 40 minutes; or until the liquid is absorbed.
