Banana Cake


Ingredients to be Creamed:

Eggs and Vanilla:


Dry Ingredients:




  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Grease and flour a 13x9x2 oblong cake pan.
  3. For a 2-layer cake grease and flour two 9-inch pans.

  5. Cream butter in a work bowl.
  6. Add sugars and mix until light and fluffy, scraping down sides of bowl as needed.
  7. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  8. Remove skins from bananas.
  9. Place bananas on a plate and coarsely mash with a fork.
  10. Add vanilla and mashed bananas to work bowl and mix in.
  11. In a separate bowl, mix together dry ingredients.
  12. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, beating after each addition. Scrape down sides and bottom of bowl as needed.
  13. Beat batter on high speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally.
  14. Pour batter into prepared 13x9x2 oblong cake pan.
  15. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  16. Cool completely in pan.
  17. Serve.


Frost the top of the cake with Buttercream Frosting.

Cut into twelve 3-inch square pieces of cake.
