Chocolate Streusel Coffeecake


Chocolate Streusel Topping:

Coffeecake Ingredients to be Creamed and Mixed:

Dry Ingredients:

Moist Ingredients:


  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Grease a 13x9x2 oblong baking pan.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl prepare Chocolate Streusel Topping; set aside.
  4. In a large work bowl beat butter and sugar on high speed until lightened in color and texture, 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  6. In a separate bowl mix together sour cream and vanilla; set aside.
  7. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture.
  8. With mixer on a low speed, mix the dry ingredients into the butter and sugar mixture.
  9. Add sour cream mixture and beat on medium speed until batter is smooth, scraping sides of bowl as necessary.
  10. Pour the batter into the greased pan and spread evenly.
  11. Sprinkle the batter with the Chocolate Streusel Topping.
  12. Bake until toothpick in center comes out clean, 30 to 40 minutes.
  13. Cool for 15 to 30 minutes.
  14. Serve warm.
