Mashed Sweet Potatoes/Yams



  1. Peel the yams/sweet potatoes.
  2. Slice into 1-inch pieces.
  3. Place yams/sweet potatoes in a large pot.
  4. Cover with water.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. Simmer for 10 to 20 minutes, until sharp fork easily pierces a slice of yam.
  7. Drain the yams/sweet potatoes.
  8. Mash with a potato masher.
  9. Add butter, brown sugar, and nutmeg.
  10. Mix with a mixer until smooth and creamy.
  11. Serve.
