Mocha Frosting



  1. Make 1 cup of strongly brewed coffee and set aside to cool.
  2. Cream the butter in a work bowl.
  3. Add powdered sugar and cocoa powder to work bowl.
  4. Add vanilla to work bowl.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons coffee to the work bowl.
  6. Beginning on low speed, slowly mix the ingredients together.
  7. On medium-high speed beat the frosting until it is smooth and creamy, adding coffee as needed until the desired spreading consistency is reached.
  8. Recipe fills and frosts two 9-inch layers, 24 cupcakes, or a 13 x 9-inch oblong cake.

Use mocha frosting to frost a mocha cake or mocha cupcakes.

This frosting has a nice balance between the rich coffee flavor and the cocoa.
