Pecan Pie Bars

Ingredients

For  Single recipe    (Makes 12 to 16 bars)

8x8x2-inch square baking pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Lightly grease baking pan.
  3. Place butter for crust in a large work bowl and cream.
  4. Add sugar for crust to butter and cream until light and fluffy.
  5. Add flour for crust to work bowl and beat on low speed until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of the baking pan and ¼-inch up the sides of the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven.
  9. Add the filling ingredients to a work bowl and mix until blended.
  10. Stir in the pecans.
  11. Pour the pecan filling over the baked crust.
  12. Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until the filling is set around the edges and the center is slightly firm.
  13. Cool and cut into 1 or 2-inch bars.
