Instructions

  1. In a large bowl mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a small saucepan bring butter and buttermilk just to a simmer.
  3. Add liquid to dry ingredients. Stir with fork or knead by hand 2 or 3 times until mixture just comes together.
  4. Using a large spoon drop dumplings into the liquid of your choice. See comment section below for dumplings with oven beef stew.
  5. Cook, covered for 10 minutes and serve.

Makes 10 to 12 large dumplings.
