Graham Cracker Pie Crust

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Finely grind up graham crackers. The finer they are ground the easier it will be to mix them with the sugar and butter and then press into a pie pan.
  3. You can grind the graham crackers by placing them in a ziploc plastic bag and rolling them with a rolling pin, or by processing them in a food processor. NOTE: If you do not want to grind your own graham cracker crumbs, some grocery stores sell pre-ground graham cracker crumbs.
  4. Place the graham cracker crumbs in a medium-sized bowl.
  5. Whisk in the sugar.
  6. Pour melted butter over the crumbs and using a spatula or large spoon mix well.
  7. Transfer the crumb mixture to a 9-inch pie pan.
  8. Using the bottom of a measuring cup or drinking glass lightly press the graham cracker crumbs into the bottom of pan and then use your fingers to lightly press the crumbs about ½-inch up the sides of the pan. **NOTE: Use a light touch to press the crumbs into the pan, otherwise, the crust will stick to the pan and serving the pie will be difficult.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes, or until just golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before adding a filling.
