Instructions

Mix hamburger, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper together. Hands are the best tool for this job.
- Based on how much meat you have and how many patties you plan to cook, divide the meat into equally sized balls.
- Flatten each ball to form a patty that will be about ¼ to ½-inch thick.
- Place the patties on a pizza pan that has been covered with a sheet of waxed paper.
- Heat the grill to medium-high.
- Brush the top of the patties with vegetable oil.
- Sprinkle each patty with a dash of salt and ground black pepper.
- Using a spatula, place the patties on the grill with the oiled side facing down.
- Grill the patties for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Do not overcook. Remember that the patties will cook even after they have been removed from the grill.
- Brush oil on the top of the patties.
- Flip the patties over and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
- Turn off the grill.
- If you are adding cheese to the patties, place 1 slice on each patty.
- Let the patties sit on the grill for 20 seconds to allow the cheese to melt.
- Remove patties from grill.
- Serve.
Comments
Use a ground hamburger with at least 15% fat content. This will yield a nice juicy burger.Burgers will shrink and become thicker as they cook.
Cooking time will vary according to the thickness of the patty.
