Instant Pot Applesauce

Ingredients
Apples, Water, Cinnamon Stick, and Salt:
- 3 to 5 pounds apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
- 1 cinnamon stick
- ¼ cup water for each pound of apples
- Dash salt
Spices:
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Peel, core, and quarter apples.
- Amount of water for 3 pounds apples: ¾ cup
- Amount of water for 4 pounds apples: 1 cup
- Amount of water for 5 pounds apples: 1¼ cups
- Add apples, cinnamon stick, water, and a dash of salt to the cooker pot. NOTE: Make sure the inner pot is no more than 2/3 full.
- Close and lock lid.
- Check to make sure the steam release handle points to "Sealing".
- Press the "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" button and set the timer for 5 minutes.
- When the timer goes off the cooker will automatically go to the "Keep Warm/Cancel" mode.
- Allow the cooker to cool down naturally until the float valve drops down. This can take up to 15 minutes.
- Carefully unlock the lid and remove.
- Mash the apples with a potato masher until they are desired consistency.
- Stir in ground cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Serve.

3 pounds of apples makes approximately 6 cups of applesauce. 6 pounds of apples makes approximately 12 cups of applesauce.Refrigerate or freeze unused portions in airtight containers. Applesauce will keep in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
If you prefer a smooth applesauce, you can use an immersion blender or hand mixer to mash the apples.

Check Your Sealing Ring Periodically:
Step One: Check to make sure the sealing ring is installed correctly. If it is installed correctly then see next step.
Step Two: Replace sealing ring as it may be damaged or worn out.
