Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Butter the sides of a 13x9x2-inch oblong cake pan; set aside.
  3. Finely grind up graham crackers and set aside. You can grind the graham crackers by placing them in a ziploc plastic bag and rolling them with a rolling pin, or by processing them in a food processor. NOTE: If you do not want to grind your own graham cracker crumbs, some grocery stores sell pre-ground graham cracker crumbs.
  4. In a small saucepan melt the butter over low heat.
  5. Layer #1 - Butter:
  6. Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the 13x9x2-inch oblong cake pan.
  7. Layer #2 - Graham Cracker Crumbs:
  8. Sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs evenly over the melted butter.
  9. Layer #3 - Coconut:
  10. Sprinkle the unsweetened coconut evenly over the graham cracker crumbs.
  11. Layer #4 - Chocolate Chips:
  12. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the coconut.
  13. Layer #5 - Peanut Butter Chips:
  14. Sprinkle the peanut butter chips over the chocolate chips.
  15. Layer #6 - Sweetened Condensed Milk:
  16. Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk over the chips. NOTE: Don't worry if there are some gaps where the milk doesn't fill in, it will level out naturally as it bakes.
  17. Layer #7 - Peanuts and Sea Salt:
  18. Sprinkle the chopped peanuts evenly over the condensed milk.
  19. Finish by sprinkling the optional flaked sea salt over the nuts.
  20. Bake for 30 minutes.
  21. Loosen from sides of pan while still warm.
  22. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
  23. Cut into 1-inch square bars and serve.

Comments

Place leftovers in an airtight container.

To offset the sweetness of these cookies I like to use unsweetened coconut flakes but sweetened coconut flakes will work as well.

These bars are very, very sweet and rich! A small bite will probably satisfy any sweet tooth.
