Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°.
- Butter the sides of a 13x9x2-inch oblong cake pan; set aside.
- Finely grind up graham crackers and set aside. You can grind the graham crackers by placing them in a ziploc plastic bag and rolling them with a rolling pin, or by processing them in a food processor. NOTE: If you do not want to grind your own graham cracker crumbs, some grocery stores sell pre-ground graham cracker crumbs.
- In a small saucepan melt the butter over low heat.
- Layer #1 - Butter:
- Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the 13x9x2-inch oblong cake pan.
- Layer #2 - Graham Cracker Crumbs:
- Sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs evenly over the melted butter.
- Layer #3 - Coconut:
- Sprinkle the unsweetened coconut evenly over the graham cracker crumbs.
- Layer #4 - Chocolate Chips:
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the coconut.
- Layer #5 - Peanut Butter Chips:
- Sprinkle the peanut butter chips over the chocolate chips.
- Layer #6 - Sweetened Condensed Milk:
- Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk over the chips. NOTE: Don't worry if there are some gaps where the milk doesn't fill in, it will level out naturally as it bakes.
- Layer #7 - Peanuts and Sea Salt:
- Sprinkle the chopped peanuts evenly over the condensed milk.
- Finish by sprinkling the optional flaked sea salt over the nuts.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Loosen from sides of pan while still warm.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars.
- Cut into 1-inch square bars and serve.
Comments
Place leftovers in an airtight container. To offset the sweetness of these cookies I like to use unsweetened coconut flakes but sweetened coconut flakes will work as well.
These bars are very, very sweet and rich! A small bite will probably satisfy any sweet tooth.
