Italian Penne Pasta Side Dish
Ingredients
Pasta:
- 16-ounces dried penne pasta, cooked and drained
Dressing:
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon minced capers
- 1 tablespoon minced sun-dried tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Parmesan and Fresh Basil:
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup fresh basil, coarsely chopped
Instructions

Cook pasta according to package directions.
- While pasta is cooking prepare the dressing:
- In a small bowl whisk together olive oil, dried basil, black pepper, salt, garlic, capers, sun-dried tomatoes, and lemon juice.
- Drain pasta and transfer to a large mixing bowl.
- Add dressing to pasta and toss to incorporate.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan and fresh basil over the pasta.
- Serve.
