Ingredients

Best Type of Serving Glass:

• Old Fashioned (tumbler-like glass)

Orange Garnish:

• 1 orange peel twist

Simple Syrup and Bitters:

• ½ teaspoon Simple Syrup
• 6 to 8 drops (2 to 3 dashes) Angostura bitters

Whiskey:

• 2 ounces rye whiskey or bourbon

Ice:

• 2 to 3 small ice cubes
• 1 ice sphere

Garnish:

• 1 maraschino cherry

Instructions

1. Prepare orange peel twist.
2. Place orange peel twist, one maraschino cherry, and ice sphere in tumbler and set aside.
3. Pour simple syrup, bitters, 3 small ice cubes, and whiskey into a shaker.
4. Shake thoroughly and pour into tumbler.
5. Serve.

This is a sipping drink, hence the large spherical ice cube that melts very slowly.
