Peach Cobbler

  1. Preheat oven to 400°.
  2. Pour sliced peaches into a large bowl
  3. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Add brown sugar mixture to peaches; stir to coat peaches.
  5. Sprinkle peaches with lemon juice and mix gently.
  6. Pour peach mixture into an ungreased 2-quart casserole; set aside.
  7. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  8. Cut butter into the flour mixture.
  9. Stir buttermilk into flour and butter mixture.
  10. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto the peach mixture.
  11. Bake until the topping is golden brown; 25 to 30 minutes.


Serves 6.

Serve warm with optional whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
