Brownies

Ingredients
For Single recipe
(Makes 16 brownies)
- Butter sides and bottom of a 8x8x2-inch square baking pan; set aside
Chocolate and Butter:
- 2-ounces of semi-sweet baking chocolate
- 1-ounce of unsweetened baking chocolate
- ½ cup butter (1 stick)
Brown Sugar and Moist Ingredients:
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 drop of almond extract (optional)
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
Dry Ingredients:
- ¾ cup flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Optional Walnuts:
- ½ cup coarsely chopped walnuts

(Makes 32 brownies)
- Butter sides and bottom of a 13x9x2-inch oblong cake pan, set aside
Chocolate and Butter:
- 4-ounces of semi-sweet baking chocolate
- 2-ounces of unsweetened baking chocolate
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
Brown Sugar and Moist Ingredients:
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
Dry Ingredients:
- 1½ cups flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
Optional Walnuts:
- 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°.
- Butter sides and bottom of baking pan and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan melt the semi-sweet and unsweetened chocolate along with the butter on low heat, stirring constantly.
- Remove melted mixture from the heat.
- Using a big spoon or spatula, stir in the brown sugar.
- Add the vanilla and optional almond extract stirring to incorporate.
- Stir in the eggs.
- Add the dry ingredients and stir until blended.
- Mix in optional chopped walnuts.
- Spread mixture in the buttered baking pan.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool, cut and serve.

These are so rich that no frosting is needed.These are great served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
This is a very easy recipe. Mix everything in one pot, pour into a baking dish and bake in the oven.
