Steamed Rice
Ingredients
- 1½ cups basmati rice
- 3 cups water
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
Instructions

Place rice in a saucepan.
- Add water and salt.
- Bring water to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer rice for 15 to 20 minutes, or until water has been absorbed.
- Serve.
Comments
Makes approximately 6 cups of rice.For a creamier rice add ½ cup extra water.
Note: I use basmati rice because I like the flavor of it and it cooks up without sticking together much. It is more of a long grain rice. There are many varieties of rice to choose from. You may need to try a few before finding the right one for your cooking needs. Follow package instructions for cooking.
Serve steamed rice with Sweet and Sour Meatballs or Chinese Fried Rice.
